bet365 tops more OLBG lists than any other bookmaker for one simple reason. Like CopyBet, at no.2, there's no stated restriction on the maximum benefit. That puts bet365 in a small group of six bookies in our top 20 with no stated cap, alongside CopyBet, 888Sport, Betfred, Betway and Betdaq. If you're backing big-priced runners, that's exactly what you want.

Timing is solid. BOG starts from 8:00 AM on the day of the race, which is earlier than 11 of the bookies in our top 20. You won't get the day-before protection CopyBet offers, or the from-midnight cover at 888Sport and Coral, but for most bettors, getting a bet on from 8am is plenty.

The big drawback is multiples. bet365 doesn't apply BOG to multiples, so if your Lucky 15 or each-way double includes a horse that drifts, you'll be paid at the price you took. That's the main reason it sits behind CopyBet, and it's worth bearing in mind if most of your racing bets are multiples rather than singles. In our 26-race test, bet365 paid out £198.83 in BOG benefit on £10 stakes. That's mid-table, and a sign its early prices are generally competitive rather than conservative.

Get the bet365 welcome offer.

Pros

  • Covers UK horses, Irish horses and greyhounds.
  • No stated cap on the maximum benefit.
  • BOG from 8:00 AM.

Cons

  • No BOG the day before.
Luke Bradshaw Lee

My verdict

The most complete BOG offer for singles, greyhounds included.

CopyBet gives you BOG from the moment a race is priced up, which means you can take a price the day before and still be protected if the horse drifts. No other bookmaker in our top 20 offers that. The next-best timing, from 888Sport, Coral and Betdaq, only starts on the day of the race itself.

That would be enough on its own, but the rest of the offer backs it up. There's no stated cap on the maximum benefit, so whether your winner drifts from 5/1 to 7/1 or from 20/1 to 40/1, you get paid the full Starting Price. And unlike bet365 just below it, CopyBet applies BOG to multiples too, from doubles and trebles to trixies, patents and Lucky 15s.

If you like to get your bets on the night before, after the declarations come out, that combination is unmatched. You lock in an early price, keep the upside if the market moves against you, and don't have to worry about a cap or bet type catching you out.

There is one blot on the copybook: there's no BOG on greyhounds. CopyBet covers all UK and Irish horse racing, but if you bet on the dogs, bet365, BetVictor and talkSPORT BET all have you covered.

Get the CopyBet welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG from when a race is priced up, even the day before.
  • No stated cap on the maximum benefit.
  • BOG applies to multiples, including Lucky 15s.

Cons

  • No BOG on greyhounds.

My verdict

BetVictor and talkSPORT BET finish level on 32 and can barely be split, but BetVictor's interface and usability give it the nose. They're two of only six bookies in our top 20 to tick every box for race types and multiples, alongside BetGoodwin, betUK, BetTOM and BetAhoy, and they have the earliest timing and highest cap of that group.

BetVictor offers BOG on UK horses, Irish horses and greyhounds, and all of it applies to multiples. If you like doubles, trebles and Lucky 15s across both horses and dogs, BetVictor gives you the widest cover of any bookie in the top three.

What separates it from the top two is timing and the cap. BOG starts from 9:00 AM, an hour later than bet365, and there's a £25,000 daily cap on the maximum benefit. In practice, £25,000 is more than enough for the vast majority of bettors, but it's still a limit that CopyBet and bet365 don't have.

There's also an interesting quirk in our data. Across 26 races, BetVictor paid out £282.83 in BOG benefit on £10 stakes, second only to talkSPORT BET. That's because its early prices tend to be conservative, so the BOG top-up is bigger when a horse drifts. A big BOG payout isn't always a good sign: it often means the early price was poor. It's worth comparing early prices before you bet.

Get the BetVictor welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG on UK horses, Irish horses and greyhounds.
  • BOG applies to multiples.
  • High customer fund segregation rating.

Cons

  • £25,000 daily cap on the maximum benefit.
  • BOG doesn't start until 9:00 AM.

talkSPORT BET runs under the same licence as BetVictor and its BOG terms are identical, so it finishes level on 32 points. Not as experienced as some rivals, talkSPORT BET is making up for lost time with a brilliant sportsbook, and its BOG offer is one of the best around. You get BOG on horse racing on both sides of the Irish Sea, plus greyhounds, and it all applies to multiples. That combination is rarer than you'd think. Of the six bookies in our top 20 with no stated cap, none offer BOG on multiples and greyhounds together.

The trade-offs are the same as BetVictor's. BOG starts from 9:00 AM, so you can't lock in a price first thing in the morning, and there's a £25,000 daily cap. For most bettors that cap will never come into play, but it's worth knowing if you back big-priced winners in multiples.

In our 26-race analysis, talkSPORT BET generated the biggest BOG payout of any bookie, £285.79 on £10 stakes. That's because its early prices are highly conservative, so it has to top up to the Starting Price more often and by more when horses drift. The flip side is that you'll often find a better early price at Coral or Ladbrokes, so it pays to compare before you bet. Choosing between talkSPORT BET and BetVictor comes down to which site and app you prefer.

Get the talkSPORT BET welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG on UK horses, Irish horses and greyhounds.
  • BOG applies to multiples.
  • Biggest BOG payout in our 26-race test.

Cons

  • £25,000 daily cap.
  • Early prices tend to be conservative.
Luke Bradshaw Lee

My verdict

Identical to BetVictor on BOG, and just as strong for multiples.

There are a few things I'd like to see from Virgin Bet, but its BOG offer still earns fifth place with 31 points, largely thanks to its cap. The maximum benefit is an enormous £50,000 a day, which is as high as it gets in our top 20 aside from the bookies with no stated limit. Only Coral matches it.

Virgin Bet also applies BOG to multiples, which gives it the edge over Coral. If you're putting big-priced horses into doubles or accumulators, the combination of multiples cover and a £50,000 cap means the protection is there when it matters most.

The downsides are timing and greyhounds. BOG only starts from 10:00 AM, which is later than 15 of the bookies in our top 20. If you like to get your bets on early, before the morning market moves, that's a real limitation. And Virgin Bet keeps BOG to UK and Irish horse racing, with no cover on greyhounds.

In our 26-race test, Virgin Bet paid out £207.14 in BOG benefit on £10 stakes, very close to the middle of the pack. That suggests its early prices are fairly competitive, rather than relying on BOG to make up the difference.

Get the Virgin Bet welcome offer.

Pros

  • £50,000 daily cap, joint-highest of any bookie with a cap.
  • BOG applies to multiples.

Cons

  • BOG doesn't start until 10:00 AM.
  • No BOG on greyhounds.

My verdict

A huge cap and multiples cover, as long as you're happy to bet after 10am.

888Sport scores 30, and its BOG offer is built on two big strengths: timing and no cap. BOG is available any time on the day of the race, from midnight. If you place a bet at 2am and the price drifts by the off, 888Sport will pay you at the Starting Price. Only CopyBet, which goes back to the day before, starts earlier.

The cap is the other headline. 888Sport has no stated restriction on the maximum benefit, so a big-priced drifter is paid in full. Aside from CopyBet, 888Sport is one of only two bookies in our top 20, with Betdaq, to combine from-midnight timing with no cap. For singles bettors who like to get on early, that's as good as it gets outside CopyBet.

So why isn't it higher? The limits are in what BOG covers. It applies to UK and Irish horse racing only, with no greyhounds, and it doesn't apply to multiples. If you like Lucky 15s or each-way doubles, a horse that drifts in your multiple won't be paid at the bigger price. That's what keeps 888Sport behind Virgin Bet, which has later timing but does cover multiples.

In our 26-race test, 888Sport paid out £211.00 in BOG benefit on £10 stakes, right in the middle of the pack. Its early prices are fairly competitive, so you're not relying on BOG to make up for a poor price.

Get the 888Sport welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG from midnight on race day.
  • No stated cap on the maximum benefit.
  • Competitive early prices.

Cons

  • No BOG on multiples.
  • No BOG on greyhounds.

My verdict

Brilliant for early singles, with no cap to worry about.

Coral finishes level with 888Sport on 30, and its BOG offer combines two of the best features in our top 20. Like 888Sport, BOG is available all day on race day, from midnight, so there's no morning cut-off to worry about. And the daily cap is £50,000, matching Virgin Bet for the highest of any bookie that sets a limit.

On timing, Coral beats Virgin Bet, which ranks two places above it. You can take a price as soon as the morning market opens, whereas at Virgin Bet you'd have to wait until 10am. For racing fans who study the cards early, that matters. What holds Coral back is multiples. BOG doesn't apply to multiples, so if a drifting winner is part of your double or Lucky 15, you won't get the bigger price. It also covers UK and Irish horse racing only, with no BOG on greyhounds.

There's another side to Coral that our data highlights. In our 26-race test, Coral paid out £175.50 in BOG benefit on £10 stakes, one of the lowest totals. That sounds like a negative, but it's actually a sign of good early prices. Coral and Ladbrokes often had the highest early odds on the winners, so they rarely needed to top up to the SP.

The smart approach is to take the best early price, and Coral is often where you'll find it. If the price shortens, you've locked in value. If it drifts, BOG has you covered.

Get the Coral welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG from midnight on race day.
  • £50,000 daily cap.
  • Often the best early prices.

Cons

  • No BOG on multiples.
  • No BOG on greyhounds.

My verdict

Betfred is one of the biggest names in racing, and its BOG offer scores 28. The big selling point is the cap: there's no stated restriction on the maximum benefit, which puts Betfred in the same group as CopyBet, bet365, 888Sport, Betway and Betdaq. Timing is good too. BOG starts from 8:00 AM on all UK and Irish horse racing, the same as bet365. That's earlier than 11 of the bookies in our top 20, so you can get your bets on before most of the morning market moves.

Where Betfred falls short is coverage. BOG doesn't apply to multiples, and there's no BOG on greyhounds. If you're a Lucky 15 bettor, that's a significant gap, especially as Betfred is otherwise one of the most racing-friendly bookies around, with a host of other racing promotions.

Compared to bet365, which has identical timing and also has no cap, the difference is greyhounds. bet365 covers the dogs and Betfred doesn't, which accounts for the gap in their scores. In our 26-race analysis, Betfred paid out £208.34 in BOG benefit on £10 stakes, almost exactly in the middle of the bookies we tracked. Its early prices are fairly competitive, so BOG is a genuine safety net rather than a way of making up for a poor price.

Get the Betfred welcome offer.

Pros

  • No stated cap on the maximum benefit.
  • BOG from 8:00 AM.
  • Competitive early prices.

Cons

  • No BOG on multiples.
  • No BOG on greyhounds.

Aside from its low cap, BetGoodwin's BOG offer is outstanding. It covers UK and Irish horse racing and greyhounds, and all of it applies to multiples. That puts it in the group of six bookies in our top 20 to tick every box for coverage, alongside BetVictor, talkSPORT BET, betUK, BetTOM and BetAhoy.

The cap is the catch. BetGoodwin limits the maximum BOG benefit to £1,000 a day. For most bettors staking a few pounds on singles, that will never come into play. But if you back a big-priced winner in a multiple, or bet in larger stakes, you could easily hit that limit. By comparison, BetVictor and talkSPORT BET offer £25,000, and six bookies in our top 20 have no stated cap at all.

Timing is middling. BOG starts from 10:00 AM, so you can't take a price first thing in the morning and be protected. It's later than bet365 or Betfred, but still earlier than betUK, which only starts at 11am. BetGoodwin is a racing-focused bookie at heart, and it shows in the depth of its racing product. In our 26-race test, it paid out £207.81 in BOG benefit on £10 stakes, right in the middle of the pack, so its early prices are competitive.

If you bet small stakes on multiples across horses and dogs, BetGoodwin is a great fit.

Pros

  • BOG on UK horses, Irish horses and greyhounds.

Cons

At BetUK you get everything covered: UK and Irish horse racing, greyhounds, and multiples, all as part of its BOG offer. That's fantastic, and it puts betUK alongside BetVictor and talkSPORT BET as one of the most complete offers in terms of what BOG applies to.

The reason it finishes 10th, rather than higher, is timing. BOG only starts from 11:00 AM, the latest of any bookie in our top 20. By 11am, a lot of the morning market has already moved, so you're more likely to be taking a shorter price than you would have got earlier. If you like to study the cards and get on first thing, that's a real drawback.

The cap is decent. betUK limits the maximum benefit to £10,000 a day. That's well below BetVictor and talkSPORT BET's £25,000 or Virgin Bet and Coral's £50,000, but it's ten times BetGoodwin's £1,000 cap, and far higher than BetTOM and BetAhoy's £100. For the vast majority of bettors, £10,000 will never be an issue.

Where betUK really suits is the bettor who likes multiples across horses and greyhounds and places bets later in the day. If that's you, the coverage is as good as anyone's, and the cap is generous enough.

Get the BetUK welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG on UK horses, Irish horses and greyhounds.
  • BOG applies to multiples.
  • £10,000 daily cap is generous enough for most.

Cons

  • BOG doesn't start until 11:00 AM, the latest in our top 20.

Betway heads a group of five bookies tied on 27 points, and it gets there thanks to its cap. There's no stated restriction on the maximum benefit, which is a much bigger opportunity than many of the bookies ranked above it. BetGoodwin, betUK, BetVictor and talkSPORT BET all set a daily limit. Betway doesn't. Timing is decent. BOG is available daily on all UK and Irish horse racing from 9:00 AM. That's an hour later than bet365 and Betfred, but earlier than Virgin Bet, BetGoodwin or betUK, so you can still get a bet on before most of the late-morning market moves.

The gaps are in coverage. Betway doesn't apply BOG to multiples, and there's no BOG on greyhounds. If you bet mainly on singles on the horses, neither will matter much. If you're a Lucky 15 or each-way double bettor, though, the bookies around it that do cover multiples are a better fit. Our 26-race test puts Betway's BOG in a good light. On £10 stakes, it paid out £213.49 in BOG benefit, the fourth-highest of the bookies we tracked. Its early prices are moderate rather than conservative, so you're not paying for that BOG top-up with a poor early price.

Betway also carries a high customer fund segregation rating, which is reassuring for anyone keeping a decent balance in their account.

Pros

  • No stated cap on the maximum benefit.

Grosvenor Sport finishes on 27 points with a well-balanced BOG offer. It covers UK and Irish horse racing, applies to multiples, and starts at 9:00 AM with a £25,000 daily cap.

If those terms sound familiar, it's because they match BetVictor and talkSPORT BET almost exactly. Same timing, same cap, same multiples cover. The one difference is greyhounds: GrosvenorSport doesn't offer BOG on the dogs, which accounts for the five-point gap between them.

The £25,000 cap is generous for the vast majority of bettors. It's well below Virgin Bet and Coral's £50,000, and the six bookies with no stated cap, but it's a long way ahead of BetGoodwin's £1,000 or BetTOM and BetAhoy's £100. You'd need a seriously big drifter in a multiple to come close.

Timing is middle of the road. From 9:00 AM, you're an hour behind bet365 and Betfred, and a long way behind CopyBet's day-before pricing. But it's still earlier than five of the bookies in our top 20. Compared to Betway, which finishes level on points, GrosvenorSport trades the uncapped benefit for multiples cover. If you bet singles, Betway is the better choice. If you like doubles, trebles and Lucky 15s on the horses, GrosvenorSport edges it. Customer support runs from 7am to 10:30pm rather than 24 hours, which is worth knowing if you bet on late evening racing.

Pros

BetTOM is one of the newer bookies in our top 20, launched in 2024, and its BOG terms are a story of two halves. On coverage, it's as good as anyone. BOG applies to UK and Irish horse racing and greyhounds, and it works in multiples too. Only six bookies in our top 20 tick every one of those boxes.

The problem is the cap. BetTOM limits the maximum BOG benefit to just £100 a day, joint-lowest in our top 20 with BetAhoy. To put that in context, a £10 win bet on a horse that drifts from 10/1 to 20/1 would generate £100 of BOG benefit on its own. Anything beyond that, and you're not getting the full Starting Price. Timing is also on the late side. BOG starts from 10:00 AM, so you can't take an early price first thing in the morning and be protected.

Interestingly, in our 26-race test, BetTOM paid out £218.81 in BOG benefit on £10 stakes, the third-highest of any bookie we tracked, behind only talkSPORT BET and BetVictor. That suggests its early prices are on the conservative side, so BOG has a lot of work to do. With a £100 cap, though, there's a ceiling on how much of that you'll actually see on a big day.

If you bet small stakes across horses and greyhounds, BetTOM's coverage is excellent. Bigger stakers should look elsewhere.

Pros

  • BOG on UK horses, Irish horses and greyhounds.

Cons

  • £100 daily cap, joint-lowest in our top 20.

Parimatch runs under the same licence as BetVictor and talkSPORT BET, and its BOG terms are almost the same. It covers UK and Irish horse racing, applies BOG to multiples, starts at 9:00 AM and has a £25,000 daily cap. The difference is greyhounds. Unlike its sister sites, Parimatch doesn't offer BOG on the dogs, which is why it scores 27 rather than 32. If you only bet on the horses, though, the offer is essentially identical to two of our top four.

The £25,000 cap is generous enough for almost every bettor. It's half of what Virgin Bet and Coral offer, but far higher than the likes of BetGoodwin, Ladbrokes or BetTOM. And because BOG applies to multiples, that cap gives you real protection on doubles, trebles and Lucky 15s when a big-priced winner drifts.

Timing is the main limitation. From 9:00 AM, Parimatch is an hour behind bet365 and Betfred, and some way behind the from-midnight cover at 888Sport, Coral and Betdaq. If you like to get bets on first thing, that might matter. Parimatch and GrosvenorSport have identical BOG terms and finish level on 27 points, so the choice between them comes down to the wider product. Parimatch has 24-hour support and fast FastFunds withdrawals, which may tip it for some.

Pros

  • BOG applies to multiples.

  • 24-hour support and fast withdrawals.

Cons

  • No BOG on greyhounds.
  • BOG doesn't start until 9:00 AM.

My verdict

BetVictor's BOG without the greyhounds, still a strong pick for horse racing multiples.

BetAhoy is the newest bookie in our top 20, launched in 2025, and it's built around racing and greyhounds. Its BOG terms are identical to BetTOM's, so it finishes level on 27 points.

The coverage is excellent. BOG applies to UK and Irish horse racing and greyhounds, and you can use it in multiples too. Only six bookies in our top 20 offer that complete package, which is impressive for a brand this new.

The cap, though, is a real limitation. The maximum BOG benefit is just £100 a day, joint-lowest in our top 20 with BetTOM. Compare that to the six bookies with no stated cap, or even BetVictor's £25,000, and it's clear BetAhoy's BOG is built for small stakes. One decent-sized drifter could take you to the limit.

Timing isn't ideal either. BOG starts from 10:00 AM, so early birds won't get protection on prices taken first thing. The wider product has some practical drawbacks too. Payments are by debit card only, and withdrawals take one to three business days, which is slow compared with most of the bookies in this list. If you're a small-stakes bettor who enjoys multiples across horses and greyhounds, BetAhoy is a good fit, and the regular odds boosts on top are a nice bonus. Choosing between BetAhoy and BetTOM comes down to which site you prefer.

Pros

  • BOG on UK horses, Irish horses and greyhounds.
  • BOG applies to multiples.
  • Regular odds boosts.

Cons

  • £100 daily cap, joint-lowest in our top 20.
  • Slow withdrawals and debit card payments only.

SportingBet is better known for tennis and live streaming, but its BOG offer on horse racing is genuinely good, scoring 26 points. The standout is timing. BOG starts from 8:00 AM, matched or beaten only by Ladbrokes, Unibet and Betdaq among the bookies ranked 9th to 20th.

That early start is paired with multiples cover, which is a combination you don't see often. Of the bookies offering BOG from 8am or earlier, only CopyBet, SportingBet and Ladbrokes also apply it to multiples. bet365, Betfred, 888Sport, Coral and Betdaq all limit BOG to singles. If you like getting your Lucky 15 or each-way doubles on first thing, SportingBet is one of very few places to do it with BOG protection.

The cap is generous too. The maximum benefit is £20,000 a day, just below BetVictor, talkSPORT BET and GrosvenorSport's £25,000, and double what betUK and Betano offer.

The gaps are greyhounds and coverage. There's no BOG on the dogs, and SportingBet covers UK and Irish horse racing only. It's also worth noting that customer support runs from 8am to midnight rather than 24 hours.

SportingBet is part of the Entain group, alongside Ladbrokes and Coral, and the racing product shares much of the same depth.

Pros

  • BOG from 8:00 AM.
  • BOG applies to multiples.

Cons

  • No BOG on greyhounds.

BetDaq is best known as a betting exchange, but its sportsbook has one of the most generous BOG offers in the country for UK racing. It scores 25 points, and two features carry it.

The first is timing. BOG is available any time on the day of the race, from midnight, which puts Betdaq alongside 888Sport and Coral for the second-earliest start in our top 20, behind only CopyBet. The second is the cap: there's no stated restriction on the maximum benefit. Put those together and BetDaq matches 888Sport for the best combination of timing and cap outside CopyBet.

So why 17th? Coverage. BetDaq's BOG only applies to UK horse racing, making it the only bookie in our top 20 without BOG on Irish racing. There's no BOG on greyhounds, and it doesn't apply to multiples either. Those three gaps cost it 15 points in total. That makes BetDaq a very specific tool. If you bet singles on UK racing and like to get on early, it's one of the best BOG offers going. If you bet on Irish racing, greyhounds or multiples, you'll need another account.

The exchange itself is a big bonus for racing bettors, letting you compare sportsbook prices against exchange prices in one place. Customer support hours, from 9am to 7:30pm, are worth bearing in mind for evening racing.

Get the BetDaq welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG from midnight on race day.
  • No stated cap on the maximum benefit.
  • Exchange and sportsbook in one account.

Cons

  • No BOG on Irish racing, greyhounds or multiples.
  • Limited customer support hours.

Ladbrokes has been taking bets since 1886, and racing is at the heart of what it does. Its BOG offer scores 25 points, and on timing and multiples it's one of the best in our top 20. BOG starts from 8:00 AM on UK and Irish horse racing, and it applies to multiples. As with Sportingbet, that early start plus multiples cover is rare. Only CopyBet, Sportingbet and Ladbrokes combine BOG from 8am or earlier with multiples.

The cap is what holds it back. Ladbrokes limits the maximum BOG benefit to £2,500 a day. That's fine for most everyday bettors, but it's a fraction of what Coral, its sister brand, offers at £50,000. If you back a big-priced winner in a multiple, you could hit that limit quickly. There's also no BOG on greyhounds.

Our 26-race analysis shows another side to Ladbrokes. It paid out the lowest BOG benefit of any bookie we tracked, £173.00 on £10 stakes. That isn't a bad thing. Along with Coral, Ladbrokes often had the highest early prices on the winners, so it rarely needed to top up to the SP. In other words, you're getting the value up front.

The smart approach is to take the best early price available, and Ladbrokes is often where you'll find it. BOG then covers you if the horse drifts.

Get the Ladbrokes welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG from 8:00 AM.
  • BOG applies to multiples.
  • Often the best early prices.

Cons

  • £2,500 daily cap.
  • No BOG on greyhounds.

Betano arrived in the UK in 2024, and its BOG offer is solid if unspectacular, scoring 25 points. It covers UK and Irish horse racing and applies to multiples, which already puts it ahead of several bigger names on that front, including bet365, Betfred and Coral.

Timing is middle of the road. BOG starts from 9:00 AM, the same as BetVictor, talkSPORT BET, Parimatch and GrosvenorSport. You can still get your bets on before the late-morning market moves, but you'll miss the 8am starts at bet365, Betfred, Ladbrokes and Sportingbet.

The cap is where Betano falls behind its closest rivals. The maximum benefit is £10,000 a day, the same as betUK. That's comfortable for most bettors, but it's well short of the £25,000 offered by Parimatch and GrosvenorSport, which share Betano's timing and multiples cover. That cap difference is exactly why Betano finishes two points behind them.

There's no BOG on greyhounds, so if you bet on the dogs, you'll need to look higher up this list. Outside BOG, Betano has plenty going for it, including instant withdrawals with PayPal and a slick, modern app. For bettors who place multiples on the horses at normal stakes, it's a perfectly good option.

Get the Betano welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG applies to multiples.
  • BOG from 9:00 AM.

Cons

  • £10,000 daily cap, lower than its closest rivals.
  • No BOG on greyhounds.

Unibet rounds off our top 20 on 23 points, level with William Hill, and its BOG offer is built around early timing. BOG starts from 8:00 AM on UK and Irish horse racing, the same as bet365, Betfred, Ladbrokes and Sportingbet. Only CopyBet, 888Sport, Coral and Betdaq start earlier, so you can get your bets on before most of the morning market moves.

The cap is generous too. Unibet limits the maximum BOG benefit to £25,000 a day, the same as BetVictor, talkSPORT BET, GrosvenorSport and Parimatch. That's more than enough for the vast majority of bettors, and well clear of the low caps at BetGoodwin (£1,000), Ladbrokes (£2,500), and BetTOM and BetAhoy (£100).

So why is it 20th? Coverage. Unibet doesn't apply BOG to multiples, and there's no BOG on greyhounds. Compare it with Betfred, which has identical timing and coverage: the only difference is that Betfred has no stated cap, and that's worth five points in our scoring.

Our 26-race test puts Unibet in a good light. On £10 stakes, it paid out £211.75 in BOG benefit, the fifth-highest of the bookies we tracked, behind only talkSPORT BET, BetVictor, BetTOM and Betway. Its early prices are moderate rather than conservative, so BOG is a genuine safety net rather than a way of making up for a poor price. Add withdrawals that can land in under 20 minutes, and Unibet is a solid choice for racing singles bettors who like to get on early.

Get the Unibet welcome offer.

Pros

  • BOG from 8:00 AM.
  • Generous £25,000 daily cap.
  • Fast withdrawals, often under 20 minutes.

Cons

  • No BOG on multiples.
  • No BOG on greyhounds.

What Is Best Odds Guaranteed?

Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) is a promotion that pays you the higher odds if the Starting Price (SP) ends up better than the early price you took on horse racing. This way, you always get the best possible odds.

I tested the top 15 Best Odds Guaranteed promotions myself. Using data from 54 races, including daily events and every race at the 2026 Cheltenham Festival, I found out which bookies really offer the best value for punters.

I’ll take you step by step through my analysis of 54 horse races and show you which betting sites are best for using BOG, and why.

A square, mobile-friendly infographic highlighting the top Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) bookmakers across four key categories. CopyBet is the 'Overall Winner'. A 'Best by Time of Day' section highlights CopyBet, Coral, and 888Sport. A 'Best for High Rollers' section lists bet365, CopyBet, 888Sport, VirginBet, and Coral. A 'Best for Greyhounds & Multiples' section features BetVictor and talkSPORT BET

Proving the Value of BOG: My 54-Race Data Deep Dive

Best Odds Guaranteed Example: Imagine you and your friend have backed the same horse for £10 at 11.00 AM from the same racing tips. You use a BOG bookie, and your friend uses a non-BOG bookie. You both take the early price of 1/1. The horse drifts and triumphs at 5/2 in the afternoon. You bag £25 in profit thanks to your BOG advantage, while your friend only pockets £10.

A portrait infographic designed in OLBG brand colors of black, orange, and light blue, illustrating a Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) betting scenario . It features a side-by-side comparison of a £10 bet placed at an early price of 1/1 where the horse drifts to a Starting Price of 5/2 . The graphic shows the non-BOG bettor walking away with just a £10 profit, while the BOG bettor secures a maximized £25 profit, highlighting the financial advantage of the promotion

The BOG Safety Net: Why Early Pricing Matters

Many bettors look at bookmaker promotions and trust the marketing instead of checking the facts. To see how BOG really works in daily markets, I ran a detailed analysis of 26 live UK and Irish horse races in March 2026, following 15 major bookmakers before the races started.

In just one day of racing, the difference between the highest and lowest BOG payouts from the bookmakers was more than £109. But the data shows that a bigger payout does not always mean the bookmaker is better.

talkSPORT BET generated significantly more BOG profit because their early prices were highly conservative, meaning they had to "top up" to the SP far more drastically when horses drifted

A square infographic titled 'The Early Odds Trap' comparing two different early pricing strategies from bookmakers. The left side, highlighted in red, shows TalkSportBet with a £285.79 BOG benefit, accompanied by text explaining that a huge BOG payout indicates poor early odds where bettors rely on the horse to drift . The right side, highlighted in green, shows Coral and Ladbrokes with a lower £173.00 BOG benefit, explaining that a lower BOG payout actually means better, highly aggressive early odds, allowing bettors to lock in value early while BOG simply acts as a safety net

Why did talkSPORT BET and BetVictor make much more BOG profit (£285.79 and £282.83) than Ladbrokes and Coral (£173.00 and £175.50)?

It all comes down to how the early betting market works.

Ladbrokes and Coral often gave the best and highest early odds on the winners. Since their early prices were already high, they rarely had to increase them to match the SP.

On the other hand, talkSPORT BET and BetVictor set much lower early odds. When horses’ odds got much longer later, the BOG safety net kicked in much more for these brands.

The main point to remember:

Don’t pick a bookmaker just because they pay out the biggest BOG difference. A large BOG payout often means their early odds were poor. The best approach is to grab the highest early odds with a bookie like Coral or Ladbrokes. If the odds get shorter, you gain a lot by locking in that high price. If the odds get longer, the BOG feature protects you by matching the higher SP.

Notable BOG Highlights & Market Movers

An infographic titled 'Market Dynamics & The BOG Benefit' using an orange and light blue colour palette on a black background. The graphic is divided into three sections. The first section highlights Market Movers, showing that 14 winning horses drifted (53.8%) and 10 winning horses shortened (38.5%) . The second section details Case Studies, featuring the biggest drifters, Yorkstone (12/1 to 18/1) and Fickle Mcselfish (10/1 to 16/1) , alongside the biggest steamer, Borna Gem (28/1 to 11/1) . The third section compares bookmaker strategies, clarifying that TalkSportBet's high £285.79 BOG benefit was due to highly conservative early odds, while Ladbrokes' lower £173.00 BOG benefit was actually because they offered highly aggressive, better early odds

To understand how frequently the BOG promotion is utilised, we must examine the movement of winners.

Out of the 26 races, the average price of the favourite was 1.83/1.

  • The Drifters (BOG Triggered): Exactly 14 winning horses (53.8%) drifted in the market.
  • The Steamers: Exactly 12 winning horses (38.5%) shortened in the market.

The Biggest Drifter BOG Payouts:

In the 20:00 at Newcastle, Yorkstone was available at early odds of 12/1 with talkSPORT BET and BetVictor before drifting massively to win with an SP of 18/1. Just 30 minutes later, Fickle Mcselfish was available at 10/1 early before drifting to an SP of 16/1. These two drifts alone generated a massive £60 BOG benefit per race on a £10 stake for those specific bookmakers.

The Biggest Steamer:

In the 14:20 at Ludlow, Borna Gem was available at massive early odds of 22/1 with CopyBet and several others, but crashed in the market right before the off to win with an SP of 11/1. Bettors who took the early price secured 17 points of pure value.

Cheltenham Best Odds Guaranteed 2026: The Real Value Revealed

If you’re betting during the biggest week of the National Hunt season, getting the Cheltenham best odds guaranteed (BOG) offer is one of the most important things you can do. But how much extra money does betting with a BOG bookie really give you compared to one without it?

An infographic titled 'The £278.75 BOG Bonus: 28 Races, £10 Stakes' displaying betting data from the 2026 Cheltenham Festival. It highlights that placing a £10 stake on the early price of 28 winners using Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) generated £278.75 in extra profit . A data breakdown shows 12 winning horses shortened in price, securing the £278.75 bonus . 9 winning horses drifted in price, where the BOG safety net protected bettors from losing out, and 7 winners had no early price change recorded

To answer that, I looked at the 28 races from the 2026 Cheltenham Festival and compared the Opening Price (OP) with the Starting Price (SP) for each winner. Using a £10 stake per race, the results show why it’s so important to use this offer.

Over those 28 races, if you had put a £10 win bet on the opening price of every winner, you would have made an extra £278.75 just from Best Odds Guaranteed.

Here’s how the 28 winners did in the betting markets:

  • 12 Winners Shortened (SP < OP): In 12 races, the winner’s starting price was lower than the opening price. If you took the early price with a BOG bookie, you got the better odds and made a total of £278.75 more than if you had just bet at the SP.
  • 9 Winners Drifted (SP > OP): In 9 races, the winner’s SP was higher than the opening price. With BOG, your early bets were automatically paid out at the bigger SP, so you didn’t lose anything by taking the early price.

An infographic titled 'Cheltenham Best Odds Guaranteed: The Real Value Revealed'. The visual summarizes betting data from 28 races at the 2026 Cheltenham Festival based on a theoretical £10 win stake. A large central highlight displays £278.75 as the total extra profit secured purely through Best Odds Guaranteed. Below this, a breakdown shows that out of 28 winners, 12 shortened in price (yielding the extra profit), 9 drifted (protecting the bettor with zero negative difference), and 7 had no early price recorded. A 'Biggest Cheltenham BOG Winners' section lists the top five horses that provided the highest extra profit: White Noise (+£100.00), Ask Brewster (+£60.00), Barton Snow (+£35.00), Air Of Entitlement (+£20.00), and Johnny's Jury (+£20.00).

The Biggest Cheltenham BOG Winners

The true value of Cheltenham's best odds guaranteed is highlighted when a horse is heavily backed throughout the day. Whilst there were no landmark gambles landed at Cheltenham this year, here are the top five races from my 2026 Festival study where BOG made the most significant impact on a £10 stake:

Summary: Why You Need BOG at Cheltenham

  1. You are mathematically better off: In almost half the races I studied (12 out of 28), the winner's price shrank before the off. Taking the early price with BOG was the only way to maximise returns.
  2. Zero downside: Because BOG upgrades your bet if the SP is higher, there are no downsides. You get the best of both worlds.
  3. Massive upside on outsiders: As seen with White Noise, getting 50/1 early on a horse that jumps at 40/1 results in a massive £100 swing for just a £10 stake

Best Odds Guaranteed Times & Restrictions

Placing your bets early means you can take advantage of Best Odds Guaranteed. That’s why I rate early offers and good early prices so highly. The times when BOG starts can be very different depending on the bookmaker.

  • The Day Before / Midnight: CopyBet, Coral, 888Sport, and BetDaq.
  • From 8:00 AM: bet365, Betfred, Ladbrokes.
  • From 9:00 AM: BetVictor, talkSPORT BET, Parimatch.

Maximum Benefit Restrictions

Picture winning big on a long shot with Best Odds Guaranteed in a multiple bet, only to find out you won’t get paid because of a maximum benefit limit. Some bookmakers cap BOG benefits at just £250, while others like CopyBet, bet365, and 888Sport don’t have a stated limit. VirginBet and Coral have a generous £50,000 cap.

Best Odds Guaranteed on Greyhounds & Multiples

Recently, Best Odds Guaranteed has expanded from horse racing to greyhound racing too. Because greyhound races are fast and unpredictable, odds can change quickly. Bookmakers such as bet365, BetVictor, talkSPORT BET, and BetGoodwin now offer BOG on greyhounds.

What about multiples? Full-cover bets like Lucky 15, Lucky 31, and Lucky 63 are often not included. But if you use BOG with standard multiples like doubles, trebles, or accumulators at bookies such as BetVictor or BetGoodwin, you could boost your winnings if several horses’ odds drift to bigger SPs.

Benefits & Best Odds Guaranteed Betting Strategy

The main benefits of using BOG are:

Reduced risk: If you like to get your bets in early for better value, BOG means you won’t miss out if the starting price ends up being higher.

Convenience: Once you have BOG, you don’t need to keep checking the time or compare different apps.

Increased value: You secure the best possible profit for that day.

Can I Use BOG in my Betting Strategy?

You can, but be careful. If you always use the same bookmaker just to take advantage of drifting prices with BOG, your account might get flagged. This could lead to restrictions, losing access to BOG offers, or even having your account closed.
