The 9 Pots of Gold slot game features an Irish luck theme, which is a common motif in slot games. The audio is traditional Irish music with traditional slot sound effects. Graphics-wise, the colours are vibrant and colourful, with a rich green background based on the lush Irish countryside. The green is complemented by plenty of lucky 4-leaf clovers and traditional Celtic patterns. During the Free Spins bonus round, some rainbow shimmer is thrown in for good measure.

On the golden-coloured grid, you can see several symbols that are associated with Irish culture, such as pots of gold, shamrocks, leprechaun hats, and harps. Celtic lettering has been woven throughout the game to complete the Irish feel.

Below are the symbols and their values:

• Bar: 3= 0.25, 4 = 0.4 or 5 = 1 x bet
• 4 Leaf Clover: 3 = 0.25, 4 = 0.4 or 5 = 1 x bet
• Leprechaun's Hat: 3 = 0.25, 4 = 0.75 or 5 = 2 x bet

There are 2 bonus features to enjoy as part of the 9 Pots of Gold slot game which is stuffed with lots of Irish themes:

Pot Scatters

When 3 or more Pot symbols land, you are awarded a cash prize, and the Pot symbols can appear anywhere on any reel. You can see the values of each of the pots in a table next to the grid. The prizes on offer can be found below.

Free Spins

The Free Spin symbol can land on reels 2, 3, and 4. If you land 3 or more of these symbols, you are awarded a spin of the Free Spin wheel. On each wedge of the wheel you can win  free spins and a multiplier. The free spins are either 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, or 30 free spins. Each wedge of the wheel also comes with multipliers attached to them, most are 2 x the bet, although the 25 and 30 free spins come in a package with 3 x the bet multipliers.

The multipliers apply to all wins except the Pot symbol wins. You can also retrigger free spins by landing 3 or more Scatters during the bonus round. The number of free spins awarded on a retrigger is equal to the initial trigger.

There seems to be an endless number of Irish-themed slot games available. If these are your thing (then lucky you), you are spoiled for choice. The 9 Pots of Gold slot game is based on Gameburger’s 9 Masks of Fire slot game, so if you know and enjoy this game, you’ll love 9 Pots of Gold as it’s exactly the same, it’s just a reskin.

9 Pots of Gold has spawned many spin-off games, including 9 Pots of Gold Megaways, 9 Pots of Gold Land & Win, and 9 Pots of Gold King Millions. This is a popular slot series from Microgaming, you can read more about the best Microgaming slots with this popular OLBG guide. Microgaming has been around since 1994 and has created some classic slots, including Immortal Romance and Mega Moolah.

I enjoyed the bonus features of the game, there are only 2 available, but both are straightforward and have enough to keep you entertained. I’m a fan of the Wheel of Fortune type features so this one was entertaining as part of the Free Games bonus. The Pot Scatters can be worth it if you manage to land a few. The low max win amount of 2,000 x the bet is off-putting although it is a medium volatility game.

Although the RTP at 96.27% is definitely a big thumbs up. I found the background music annoying and had to mute it, the Irish music is great but before that there is background noise which sounds like you've forgot to turn something off.

If Irish-themed slot games are your cup of tea, you might enjoy the Rainbow Riches series of games. Here at OLBG HQ, we’ve written a useful guide where we’ve compared every Rainbow Riches slot game.

To sum up, 9 Pots of Gold is an enjoyable game if you enjoy the Irish genre and it will hopefully bring a touch of Irish luck. For more options, check out OLBG's dedicated guide:
