Every online casino shouts about its offers, but how do you know if you can trust them? I test them, so you know where's worth playing & how to get genuine value.
- Every UK casino site must now offer gross deposit limits, after the second phase of the Gambling Commission's new rules came into force on 30 September.
- Lightning Roulette and Funky Time now each have a separate guide and casino list, so you can learn the game or find somewhere to play it.
- The best live casino sites, independent casinos, quick verification casinos and lowest house edge guides have all been updated this week.
It has been a hectic week in the world of online casino sites.
I've brought you a news piece on new deposit limit rules, split two of our most popular game pages into separate guides and casino lists, and given four more of OLBG's most-read casino guides a thorough review.
On the news front, UK casino sites must now offer gross deposit limits to every customer.
The second phase of the Gambling Commission's updated deposit limit rules came into force on 30 September, after the regulator extended its original 30 June deadline by three months following feedback from operators about the technical work involved.
From now on, only a gross deposit limit can be called a "deposit limit", and it must be shown with at least equal prominence to any other financial limit on a site.
The change builds on the first phase of the Remote Technical Standards, which came into force in October 2025.
My View
Elsewhere, I've split two of our biggest live game pages in two, so whether you want to learn a game or just find somewhere to play it, you'll land on the right page.
My new Lightning Roulette guide explains how the lightning round and the 29:1 straight-up payout work, along with the real RTP of every bet.
The best Lightning Roulette casinos page now focuses on where to play it.
I've done the same for Funky Time. My refreshed Funky Time guide covers the 64-segment wheel, the RTP of every bet and how each of the four bonus rounds plays out, while the new best Funky Time casinos page lists the UK sites I recommend.
A big chunk of my week also went into four high-traffic guides.
The best live casino sites page has been rebuilt around my own testing, including a screen recording of a recent session at Midnite on my iPhone, plus new sections on table limits, payments and live casino bonuses.
| Page | What's New |
|---|---|
| Lightning Roulette guide | Rules, RTP and strategy |
| Funky Time casinos | Where to play in the UK |
| Best live casino sites | Rebuilt around my testing |
| Independent casinos | Every licence checked |
I also gave our best independent casinos guide a proper review
I checked every casino against the Gambling Commission's public register to make sure each one runs as a single brand under its own licence, and added newer independents including BetAhoy, 36vegas, BetTOM and Bingo Britain.
The best quick verification casinos UK and casino games with the lowest house edge guides picked up some updates and improvements too.
