From the greatest save Peter Schmeichel says he has ever seen to the real worst day of David Seaman's career, and the message he still passes on to every released Arsenal academy kid, this is one of the most quietly moving episodes The Jeff Stelling Show has produced.

"The greatest save he's ever seen" — Peter Schmeichel on the Peschisolido stop
Ask David Seaman for his greatest ever save and he doesn't hesitate.
The flying, scooping, one-handed clawback from Paul Peschisolido's header in the 2003 FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United. Peter Schmeichel called it the greatest save he had ever seen. Seaman is quietly proud, but also honest about the reason it went from great to iconic.
"The fact it had gone past me… I knew it was going in. So I scooped it, got the hand behind the ball and scooped it out."
He also gives a fascinating goalkeeper's-eye view of the aftermath, the deadpan face on the replay, Ashley Cole shouting in his ear, the deflating realisation that Phil Jagielka would put the rebound over the bar. Peschisolido, he tells Jeff, still insists it was in.
"He's got everything" — Seaman's David Raya verdict
For the Arsenal fans watching, the current-day content is just as strong. Seaman is a huge admirer of David Raya, and gives Jeff a considered, expert breakdown of what has taken the Spaniard from a nervy Arsenal debut to a Premier League winners' medal.
"He's an all-round goalkeeper who's got everything. One of the biggest things he excels at is crosses. He's not just coming out and punching, he's coming out and claiming and catching, which is a great read for defenders. He's taking it to another level every season."
Seaman also warns that the pressure of following Aaron Ramsdale, the Premier League's best-voted goalkeeper the season before, was massive and one Raya has now visibly grown into.
