Benn Chases Family History Against Champion Garcia

Conor Benn attempts to emulate his father Nigel this weekend by winning a world title, stepping into the ring with WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas.

It's a significant night for British boxing, with Benn getting his shot at world honours against a champion who arrives with plenty of star power of his own.

UK Betting Sites are now giving odds on the fight with Garcia the odds-on favourite to get the win this weekend.

UK and Ireland fans will need to tune in via DAZN pay-per-view to catch the action live, with Garcia and Benn not scheduled to make their ringwalks before 04:00 in the early hours of Sunday 13 September.

With a world title and legacy both on the line, it's no surprise bet365 have already seen plenty of interest across the full range of markets.

What the expert says...
This has the makings of a proper occasion, and I get why Garcia's such a short price given the belt and his overall résumé, but I wouldn't be shocked if Benn made this far more competitive than the odds suggest. He's got the power to trouble anyone early, and if he can find a home for that right hand, the stoppage price on him at 5/1 starts to look pretty tempting. I'd lean towards Garcia getting the job done, but I'm not convinced this one goes the full distance.
