Every online casino shouts about its offers, but how do you know if you can trust them? I test them, so you know where's worth playing & how to get genuine value.

Live casino game shows have become the main draw on many casino sites, and Crazy Time is the biggest of them all.

Below, I break down exactly how it works and explain its verified RTP.

What is Crazy Time?

Crazy Time is a live online game show from Evolution, and it's the most popular one they've built.

A live host spins a 54-segment wheel from a dedicated studio, and you bet on which segment it'll land on before the spin.

Land on a number and you're paid at fixed odds. Land on one of four bonus segments and the game shifts into Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko, or the Crazy Time bonus itself, each with its own way of paying out far more than a straight number bet.

Crazy Time has a verified RTP of up to 96.08%, varying by bet, covered in full below.

Why I Love It

Crazy Time earns its popularity honestly. Four completely different bonus mechanics on one wheel means no two sessions play out the same way, and that's rare for a live casino game. It's the one I get asked about the most, and once you know the RTP spread between bets, it's a lot more interesting to play properly rather than just betting on instinct.

How to Play Crazy Time

Here's how Crazy Time works, and how the numbers on the wheel break down.

The wheel has 54 segments in total, split across eight categories:

Wheel SegmentNumber of SegmentsProbability per Spin
12138.89%
21324.07%
5712.96%
1047.41%
Coin Flip47.41%
Cash Hunt23.70%
Pachinko23.70%
Crazy Time11.85%

You bet on whichever segment you think the wheel will land on, choosing any combination of the eight.

Once betting closes, the host spins the wheel, and a flapper marks the winning segment when it stops.

Before the spin, a Top Slot above the wheel also locks in its own multiplier and randomly targets one segment.

If the wheel lands on that same segment, whatever's in the Top Slot boosts the payout, whether that's a number bet or one of the four bonus rounds.

Land on a numbered segment and you're paid at odds matching the number, with your stake returned alongside the win.

Land on one of the four bonus segments instead, and the game moves into whichever bonus mechanic that segment triggers, covered next.

Crazy Time RTP by Bet

Crazy Time's RTP changes depending on what you bet on. Numbers pay out the highest, bonus rounds pay out the lowest, and Pachinko is the weakest bet on the wheel. Here's the verified RTP for every bet, taken from Evolution's published game data.

Crazy Time Bonus Round Explained

Before every spin, a Top Slot above the wheel locks in its own multiplier and randomly targets one segment, a number or one of the four bonus games.

If the wheel lands on that same segment, whatever's showing in the Top Slot boosts the payout, whether that's a straight number bet or one of the bonus rounds below.

If the wheel lands on a number, those bets are paid out at fixed odds, boosted by the Top Slot if it matched.

If it lands on one of the four bonus games, the host immediately starts that game. Here's how each one works, and the payout range for each.

Coin Flip

Payout: 2x–100x

The hint is in the name with this one. It's a simple two-option game where the host flips a coin with one red side and one blue side, each carrying its own multiplier value set before the flip.

Whichever side lands face up pays out at that value to everyone who backed it.

Cash Hunt

Payout: 5x–500x

Cash Hunt features a shooting gallery with 108 symbols, each hiding a multiplier.

Line up your target and shoot to reveal the multiplier behind it. Different players in the same round can end up revealing different values from each other.

Pachinko

Payout: 2x–400x

Pachinko is a puck-drop game with potential for big multipliers. The host drops the puck from a height through a pin wall in the studio, and it settles in one of several slots at the bottom, each with its own multiplier.

Land in a "Double" slot and every value on the board doubles before the puck drops again, and that can repeat more than once in the same round.

Crazy Time

Payout: 15x–400x

This is the main bonus round, and in my opinion, the most exciting of the lot. It features a spinning wheel with three flappers: blue, green and yellow.

Players choose a flapper, then the wheel spins to land on a multiplier. If it lands on a Double or Triple, all values for your flapper increase and the wheel spins again, and that can cascade more than once before it settles.

Crazy Time Strategies

There are a number of Crazy Time betting strategies you can use to try maximise your chances of winning.

They include a low risk approach focusing solely on numbers, a medium risk, bonus-focused strategy, or much riskier tactic of banking on landing the Crazy Time bonus round.

Here's a little more information on the above.

Numbers Only

Place a two unit stake on numbers 1, 2, 5 and 10. This ensures you'll cover 83% of the wheel.

You won't have a huge win as often, but this approach sets you up to last much longer.

Bonus Hunter

If you place a bet on the four bonus rounds, you'll cover just under 17% of the wheel.

While this has a much smaller chance of landing, you'll have much bigger wins if you're successful.

High Risk

Betting solely on the Crazy Time bonus round give you just 1% wheel coverage.

However, this all or nothing approach can return huge winnings if you manage to strike it lucky.

Despite this, it is the fastest way to run out of funds, so we recommend avoiding it.

Best Time to Play Crazy Time

One of the most common questions UK players ask about Crazy Time is whether there's a "best time" to play.

The honest answer is no, not in terms of your odds. Crazy Time is powered by a certified Random Number Generator, and every wheel spin and bonus round trigger is independent of the clock.

Play at 3am on a Tuesday or 8pm on a Saturday and your odds on any given spin are identical.

What does change with time of day is the atmosphere, not the maths.

Evenings and weekends tend to be the busiest periods, with more interaction and banter from hosts, a livelier chat window, and a faster pace of betting.

If you'd rather play without a crowded chat, early morning or midweek daytime sessions tend to be calmer.

So if you're chasing better odds, there isn't a best time. If you're chasing a livelier session, evenings and weekends are it. Either way, stick to your budget regardless of when you log in.
