JB Gill Tipped As Early Favourite For New ITV Show

ITV's newest game show is just weeks away from launching, and early speculation is already building around who might come out on top when The Box airs for the first time.

Betting sites haven't opened a formal market on the show just yet, but early theoretical odds compiled by an industry expert already have JB Gill installed as the clear favourite among a strong celebrity line-up.

Early theoretical odds like these are often compiled using a mix of public profile, past reality TV form and general audience appeal, and they can give a useful early steer on how a series might be perceived even before betting sites formally get involved.

With ten celebrities named as part of the line-up, JB Gill stands out as a clear standalone favourite.

What Is The Box?

For anyone unfamiliar with the format, The Box is a brand-new game show set to air on ITV from 5 September 2026, presented by former England captain turned broadcaster Gary Lineker.

The premise sees celebrities packed into yellow boxes and sent to a variety of different locations, where they're put through a mix of physical and mental challenges designed to test them in very different ways.

The twist comes at the end of each episode, when the two contestants who performed worst face off against each other in a head-to-head duel, with the loser eliminated from the competition. It's a format that promises plenty of jeopardy and unpredictability, which likely explains why early interest in who might go all the way is already building well ahead of launch.

The Odds: Gill Way Out In Front

ITV The Box WinnerOdds*Implied Probability
JB Gill1/266.7%
Ellie Taylor6/440.0%
Danny Aarons2/133.3%
Joey Essex5/228.6%
Shakira Khan3/125.0%
Ranvir Singh3/125.0%
Jenny Ryan4/120.0%
Graeme Souness4/120.0%
John Bercow6/114.3%
Sara Davies6/114.3%

Gill's implied probability of 66.7% puts him well clear of the rest of the field, with Ellie Taylor the closest named challenger at 40.0%.

Danny Aarons and Joey Essex round out the leading group, while Shakira Khan and Ranvir Singh are tied in the middle of the market at 3/1.

Further down the field, Jenny Ryan and Graeme Souness share a price of 4/1, while John Bercow and Sara Davies are the current outsiders of the ten names involved, both tied at 6/1.

With a format this physically and mentally demanding, and no previous series to draw form from, there's plenty of scope for these early prices to shift once the show actually gets underway.

What the expert says...
It's always tricky calling a brand new format like this before a single episode has aired, but Gill's athletic background makes him an obvious pick for a show built around physical and mental challenges. That said, formats like this often reward composure under pressure just as much as raw fitness, so I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Ranvir Singh or Jenny Ryan sneak up the market once we've actually seen how the duels play out.

Where To Bet On The Box

As things stand, betting sites aren't yet offering markets on The Box, so there's no bookmaker to point you towards just yet for this particular show.

That's likely to change once the series launches and viewers get a proper look at how the format plays out, at which point odds are likely to be updated to reflect genuine betting markets rather than the theoretical figures above.

In the meantime, it's worth keeping an eye on some of the best entertainment betting sites for when markets do open.
