I break betting odds news as it happens, so you’re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Olivia Dean is the narrow leader in the betting to provide this year's John Lewis Christmas advert song at 5/4.
  • Lily Allen (6/4) and Adele (2/1) follow close behind as the countdown continues to the advert's traditional November launch.
  • Last year's advert saw producer Labrinth reimagine Alison Limerick's 1990 house classic "Where Love Lives" for the soundtrack.

Olivia Dean Narrowly Leads The Race

Betting experts always come alive around this time of year as attention turns to one of the UK's most-discussed pieces of advertising.

The John Lewis Christmas advert remains a much-anticipated cultural event in its own right, and with around a month to go until launch, odds are already out on which artist will provide this year's soundtrack.

Traditionally, the advert lands in early to mid-November, and betting markets tend to heat up in the weeks beforehand as speculation builds.

Last year it was Labrinth who took on the honour, reimagining Alison Limerick's 1990 house music classic "Where Love Lives" for the 2025 campaign, a tough act for this year's eventual pick to follow.

Olivia Dean's rise up the charts this year makes her a logical name to top this particular market, and a price of 5/4 reflects just how strongly she's expected to feature when the campaign eventually drops.

Lily Allen isn't far behind at 6/4, while Adele completes the leading trio at 2/1, a reminder that John Lewis has never been shy about leaning on one of Britain's biggest vocal talents when the moment calls for it.

Sam Smith and Raye round out the acts given a real chance at 3/1 and 4/1 respectively, both artists whose voices would comfortably suit the kind of emotional, string-laden reworking John Lewis tends to favour.

The Rest Of The Market

Ed Sheeran drifts out to 5/1, which feels notably generous given his track record for soundtracking big UK campaigns, while Celeste sits at 8/1 as a credible outsider with the kind of soulful tone that's worked well for John Lewis in previous years.

Florence Welch (10/1) and Lewis Capaldi (12/1) complete the list as the two biggest long shots of the group.

Neither should be ruled out entirely, though as John Lewis has a habit of springing a surprise with its final pick, and both artists have shown they can deliver the kind of stripped-back, emotional performance the advert typically calls for.

What the expert says...
Olivia Dean at 5/4 makes sense given the year she's had, but I genuinely wouldn't be shocked if this one goes to Lily Allen again. John Lewis loves a big emotional moment, and a throwback to her 2013 advert could be the one.
