Full Cast Confirmed As Betting Market Made

Betting experts have already made their move on Last One Laughing UK Series 3, with the full cast confirmed at the end of August and a winner market now firmly up and running.

The show is expected to launch in its usual March slot next year, giving plenty of time for early markets to take shape before the improvised sketches and laughing bans get underway.

Harry Hill tops the market to be crowned winner, an early nod to his long comedy pedigree and reputation as one of the more unpredictable performers likely to make it hard for his fellow cast members to keep a straight face.

Close behind him is Richard Ayoade, who returns to the show this year after finishing as Series 1 runner-up, and he proved how straight-faced he can be in that series.

Why Ayoade's Return Matters For The Market

Richard Ayoade's near miss in Series 1 is clearly doing plenty of the heavy lifting behind his short price this time around, and it's not hard to see why.

Comedians and performers who've previously gone deep in the show tend to carry an edge in the betting, having already shown they can hold their nerve under the format's unique pressure.

Bob Mortimer was favourite last series as defending champion, but he eventually finished in third place.

Whether Harry Hill's reputation as one of British comedy's more chaotic performers is enough to hold off a second Ayoade charge will be one of the more interesting subplots once the series eventually gets underway.

Mel Giedroyc joins Jimmy Carr in the control room as his deputy

Series 2 contestant Mel Giedroyc returns to the show this year as Jimmy Carr's assistant, replacing Roisin Conaty in the hot seat.

Roisin will be a contestant this time around and fans will be intrigued to see how she does after two series of watching everyone else.

What the expert says...
Harry Hill topping this makes total sense on reputation alone as the man's spent decades finding the absurd in absolutely anything, and that's exactly the skill set this format rewards. But I wouldn't be writing off Ayoade's chances at 7/4 either; there's something about a nearly-man coming back for another crack that tends to bring out the best in people.
