I break betting odds news as it happens, so you’re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Chris Appleton became the first celebrity eliminated from this year's Strictly, losing out to Jaime Winstone in a unanimous judges' decision after Movie Week.
  • Lacey Turner remains top of the winner market with bet365, her price tightening from 5/2 to 7/4 following a strong Movie Week score.
  • Graeme Hall's 31-point Movie Week showing was the highest of the night

Chris Appleton Becomes Strictly's First Elimination Of The Series

Strictly Come Dancing's first elimination of the series is in the books, and UK Betting Sites have already reacted to a Movie Week that proved costly for one couple in particular.

Chris Appleton and his partner Amy found themselves in the bottom two alongside Jaime Winstone and Carlos, and it was Chris who made the exit after a unanimous decision from the judging panel.

All three judges who voted, Mabuse, Ballas and Du Beke, opted to save Jaime and Carlos, with Craig Revel Horwood confirming he too would have voted to save them had a deciding vote been needed.

It brings an end to a difficult week for Chris and Amy, whose cha-cha-cha to Baywatch's "I'm Always Here" scored among the lowest of the night.

Bet365's odds have Lacey Turner as the clear favourite in the winner market, with plenty of changes in the past week.

At the other end, Melanie Walters' 15 for her Waltz to The Sound of Music was the lowest score of the night, though it was Chris and Amy who ultimately paid the price in the public vote.

Lacey Turner remains top of the market, and her price has actually shortened from 5/2 to 7/4 since last week.

That reflects a strong start that's only looked more convincing after her Movie Week score.

John Nellis stays second favourite at 4/1 despite drifting slightly, with Dani Dyer and Delta Goodrem tied for third at 13/2.

Jaime Winstone, despite surviving the dance-off, has drifted out to 66/1 following her spell in the bottom two.

Expert View

Lacey Turner has been the standout from week one, and that Movie Week score only confirms it. She looks like the one to beat right now. Graeme Hall's the name I'd keep half an eye on, though. That 31 came out of nowhere a little, and if he can back it up next week, he could easily work his way towards the top of the betting.
