Snow in October? Experts Make It Odds-On

Could snow arrive in the UK before Halloween? According to the latest forecasts and the betting markets the answer could well be yes.

Betting experts have priced it at 1/2 that the UK will see snow in October 2025, as temperatures are forecast to drop to 0°C in several northern regions including Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Wick by October 25th.

Weather model WXCharts suggests widespread frosty conditions late in the month, while Met Office long-range forecasts point to “changeable, showery, and cooler conditions” dominating the UK from October 24 to November 7.

That has sparked a flurry of betting interest, with punters speculating on whether this could be one of the earliest snowfalls in recent years.

What the expert says...
It’s not unusual to see snow in October in the Highlands, but temperatures this low could make it possible further south too. The 1/2 on Aberdeen or Edinburgh seeing snow looks justified, but at 3/1 Middlesbrough could be a value pick if conditions align.
